Never two without three! After the BE-OD and the Dirty Shirley, here is the Friedman Smallbox, a distortion-type effect pedal that will fit exactly between the two models mentioned. With this Smallbox, Dave continues to offer pedal versions of the brand's amps.
On the program, a Marshall-ian pedal that recreates the best of “Plexi Bright” sounds.

Light to handle (it's an advantage), the Smallbox comes in a pretty box with a small fabric bag and marketing that goes well, it's always appreciated. The case is nice and the aesthetics of the pedal is very reminiscent of the brand's graphic charter. On the program, a 3-band EQ (Bass, Mid and Treble), a Presence control, a mini Gain Structure toggle switch which will allow you to act on the amount of gain by adding an additional gain stage. And finally, the usual Volume and Gain. Note, the pedal can be powered by 9-18V for maximum headroom.

Super Strat on your knees, Two-Rock Studio Signature amp in ultra clean mode, here's a good base for using the Smallbox. Concretely, it is really between the BE-OD and the Dirty Shirley. We have less gain, less compression than the BE, but we get a more open and versatile grain, without really losing the big sound. The frequency range is also different, with a slightly more forward high end and a less tight low end. It is therefore a high-gain pedal, but more oriented hard-rock, edgy blues than "metal" as does the BE-OD. Just imagine a more vintage BE-OD with a more airy and therefore more versatile drive.
The pedal sends heavy, it perfectly cleans the volume knob and is more progressive in terms of Gain and EQ settings, where the BE wants to be more “binary”. The EQ is very reactive, the Presence knob allows you to lighten the drive more or less without overloading the treble, and the Gain structure switch allows either to have a more classic rock oriented mod, or more 80's high-gain.

The Friedman Small Box delivers the best of Marshall sounds with always its "boosted" side and this characteristic compression of the brand's products. Note, it is offered at a relatively affordable price for boutique / high-end, which makes it even more essential!

This was my puppy’s fav toy for the longest time. Not too heavy and is the right amount of tough for a chewing teething puppy. Cute toy that’s easy to chew and safe for a teething puppy it’s not loud and lasts. Worth the price.

Airedale tough!
Color: Rubber Chew Toy, Size: Large
We have two young Airedale Terriers and I thought this would be a good inside toy for them to tug. And I was right! Very happily so. I have to admit I was surprised when I first saw it; it seemed so small. But the thing stretches and springs back to shape. We’ve had it about 2 weeks now and it is constantly played with. Absolutely the best toy! Very interactive either alone (it rolls) or with us or they play together. I am surprised how tough it is with all the constant rough play. Highly recommend!!!

Small, but twisty and fun looking. Seems relatively sturdy, though doesn't look indestructible at all.
Color: Rubber Chew Toy, Size: Large
SLIGHTLY disappointed because I thought this was bigger than it is. If you squish it all in close, it's maybe one and a half times the size of a tennis ball. (Of course, the size is probably listed; I think I just assumed, so my fault.) That being said, it's entertainingly twisty and squishy, though the rubber seems relatively sturdy. I'm not yet positive if it will hold up to the 8 month retriever/lab mix it's intended for; he tends to rip instantly through anything much less sturdy than kong natural rubber. But it seems like something that will amuse him, so we're going to give it a shot at Christmas.
