Thickspike Gayfeather, also known as Prairie Blazingstar, is a striking native perennial found throughout the tallgrass prairie region. Growing 2 to 4 feet tall, it produces dense spikes of rose-purple, thistle-like blooms from mid-summer into early fall. The flowers are a magnet for birds, hummingbirds, and butterflies, including the rare Glorious Flower Moth (Schinia gloriosa). This hardy species thrives in full sun and dry to moderately moist soils, tolerating drought, heat, and poor soil conditions. Commonly used in prairie restorations, landscaping, roadside plantings, and wildlife habitats, it also makes an excellent cut flower. During establishment, control weed competition by mowing above the plant height or using appropriate herbicides. Seeds can have dormancy; plant in late fall or cold stratify for 30–60 days before spring seeding.

Blue ball, my dog likes blue.
Just a ball right? Evidently not! My dog won’t chase an orange chuck it ball or the glow in the dark ball- only the blue one 🤷🏼‍♀️

Colorful, Sturdy & Great Value
Color: Large Set of 4
Purchased for our two puppies when they were 2 months old and weighed about 14 pounds so theses balls were a little big for them to hold in their mouths but that didn't stop them from trying. While they did like these balls they much preferred softer soccer balls, the later of which did not hold up well at all. I had hoped they would play with these balls more when they were older but that hasn't happened 5 months later. I guess it's no fun if you can't tear the toy apart. Colors are very bright and they do enjoy chasing after them as long as I am the one rolling them across the room for them. Maybe when they progress to batting things with their paws they will start to do this for themselves.
