‘Sailor Sky’ daylily must have been named after the old saying: “Red at night, sailor’s delight. Red in the morning, sailor’s take warning.” Fiery rose blooms have a raspberry eye and striking gold wire edge and bring a calming beauty to the garden. Large blooms are 5 1/2″ and stand strong on scapes around 28″ in our East Tennessee garden. A delight.

A late season bloomer, we typically begin to see the first of these fiery pink blooms around the end of June. If you live to our north, you’ll see them a bit later than we do. If you live to our south, you’ll get to see them a few weeks before us.

Sailor Sky is a semi-evergreen daylily. This means it can be grown in gardens across the nation.

The gorgeous color of Sailor Sky looks fantastic with light pink or pale orange in the garden. Try it with bright orange for a sizzling treat!
