Moisture & Soil Requirements: Semi-succulent creeping vine. Prefers evenly moist soil with good drainage in warm seasons - never soggy soil. Water when the container feels light or even when the top few centimetres of the soil is dry. Prefers to be kept a little drier through winter and can even survive going dry.
Growth & Nutrients: Grows as a ground cover in nature but in a container, Callisia repens creates attractive mounds and trailing sections when grown in a container. Prune by cutting leggy stems to encourage bushy growth. Additionally, maintain an attractive shape by pruning back faster-growing green segments to allow the pink segments time to catch up. Suits apartments or homes of any size. Feed with a general-purpose fertiliser for containers from the start of spring each year to autumn when growth slows down.
Temperature, Humidity & Ambient requirements: Prefers warm environments inside and adaptable for nearly any situation, tolerates a range of humidity levels.
Toxicity: Toxic to pets and people. Don't let anyone eat this. It ain't broccoli.
