Directions for Ham & Bean Dry Soup Mix
1 Package of Ham & Bean Dry Soup Mix
1 pound dry great Northern beans
8+ cups water
1 ham hock
2 cups chopped ham
4 potatoes, pealed and sliced
Rinse beans in cold running water and sort to remove any stones or debris, or split beans. Wash several times.
Cover the beans with water in a large stock pot. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 3 to 5 minutes. Remove from heat, cover, and let stand 1 to 2 hours. OR soak beans overnight in a covered pan, do not drain.
Bring beans and water to boiling. Add a large meaty ham bone or ham hocks, soup mix, sliced potatoes. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer over very low heat for 1 hour or until the beans are nearly tender. Remove bone or ham hocks.
When the ham is cool enough to handle, remove any remaining meat from bones and chop and add to soup. Add additional 2 cups chopped ham.

Pretty color

I am given this five-star based on the looks of it because of that it arrived too late and didn't arrive until the day of my party. I had already purchased some other plastic wear to use. I wish this would have came sooner because it would have been beautiful for my Christmas party. I am going to store it for next year's Christmas party and see if the color fades at all. If the color fades it may turn it into a pretty pink who knows. All I know is the plastic ware seems very sturdy and is gorgeous.

Gorgeous and elegant disposable silverware!

I bought this gold silverware pack for my parents' 50th anniversary party. The gold is a nice, pleasant shade and not too yellow or brassy looking. Nice and shiny. I had originally bought a set of plastic ware from a different retailer and ended up returning them to get these- the other ones were a dull, almost brownish gold and didn't look nearly as nice. I think these ended up being $3-4 cheaper anyway and we got more in the pack.
We had a party for abut 60 guests and there were plenty of forks, knives, and spoons for lunch service, coffee stirring, and cake for dessert. I have quite a few left over to use for something else but this pack gave me peace of mind that we wouldn't run out and our tables would look great.
See photo for mock-up of our place settings. The silverware goes well with other tableware, most of which is also from Amazon sellers (except the gold charger plates from Dollar Tree and the paper plates/napkins from Costco).

I got ridiculously excited about how pretty these are! They're iridescent and almost a ruby red color. Far better for a holiday party than other red plastic silverware in my opinion. Makes a pretty table.
