2004 Figures Toy Co Mad Monster Series 1970s Frankenstein 8" Mego Retro Action Figure RARE

Description

Mad Monsters, specifically. That’s what the line was called. It included The Human Wolfman, The Dreadful Dracula, The Horrible Mummy, and The Monster Frankenstein. They were released in 1973, at the apex of the monster boom that had begun more than a decade earlier. Monster toys were everywhere in those days, but it wasn’t until these particular toys arrived—along with AHI’s terrific Official World Famous Super Monsters!—that kids like me had fully-articulated monster action figures to play with.

The figures are odd-looking in that they do not conform to the images of these monsters that have been popularized in films. Mego opted not to license the characters from Universal Pictures (as AHI later did), and that gave them an opportunity to get creative. Thus, we have a Wolfman with a more lupine head; a ghostly-looking Mummy; and a Frankenstein’s Monster whose neck bolts are up around his temples! Dracula’s skin-tight bodysuit is another story altogether, but the bottom line is we loved these figures, and sometime during the mid-’70s, the first time we noticed that they were missing from store shelves, it was a sad day for monster kids everywhere.

But all that changed a few years back when a Florida manufacturer called Figures Toy Company started producing exact replicas of the Mego Mad Monster Series!

The 8-inch reproductions are faithful to the originals in every way, right down to the glow-in-the-dark detailing. Figures Toy Company has also gone the extra mile to faithfully reproduce the original Mad Monster Castle Playset, as well as a strange variant of the Frankenstein figure that has blue hair (it’s sold as part of the company’s Classic TV Toys line, and really did exist back in the day).

Base isnt a charger, But otherwise its decent.
The overall quality of this product is high. It worked and funcioned as expected. My toddler hated it. He couldnt deal with the vibration even on the toddler steeing. It has 2 settings for different age ranges but you have to go through them every time you turn it on. This would have been better as a selector switch somewhere else that remained in place. The base is NOT A CHARGER. that was very dissapointing. Not only is the base NOT a charger, you cant even plug the toothbrush in and then let it sit in the charger. The should have just made the base...the charger. Plug that in and leave it and that way the tooth brush stays charged all the time. Overall other than the base being a dissapointment this isnt a terrible toothbrush. If your child is ok with the vibration they will probably love this.

Works well has plenty of pressure.
It is a great device, a bit awkward to use over a bowl sink, but with some minor adjustment of the nozzle, it works well. It appears to be as effective as most water picks and I like not having to fool with a hose, that can break.

Needed replacement, 2nd one works OK
The first one I received had a broken latching mechanism. Not a shipping issue, as the box was fine, it just wouldn't latch the attachments because the mechanism wouldn't come all the way out. After getting a replacement the 2nd one worked better. It has 3 settings for soft, normal, and pulse. For me, the normal put out the best force for clearing out bits. After washing with it for about 30 seconds though I still don't feel it cleans we well as real floss, or even a waterpik, but it does help after brushing. I will add it to my routine as it does help flush out some things, but it won't be replacing my flossing. It is sort of portable, in that can be packed away and holds a charge, but it's still pretty large and takes up a good amount of space in a toiletry bag. It's not bad, but not really outstanding either.

I like this better than my name brand unit
🔵 Features: The water pick boasts a generously sized reservoir, which is a standout feature. It also comes with a convenient USB charger, offers 3 speed settings (normal, soft, and pulse), and features quick and easy detachable heads. 🔵 Power: In terms of power, comparing it to my current unit revealed no noticeable differences in pressure or volume to the naked eye. Both units effortlessly deliver a stream of water up to 12 feet. 🔵 Heads: The water pick includes a plethora of heads, more than most people would likely need. Personally, I would have preferred a lifetime supply of the simple angled head picks, but the variety provided caters to all preferences. 🔵 Overall: After using it for a few days, I found that it performs admirably. When placed side by side with my old unit, I consistently reach for the 7AM2M unit, primarily due to its larger reservoir. In all other aspects, I find them comparable, and I wholeheartedly recommend this water pick to others.

Well designed portable water flosser that's holding up so far
There are a number of such portable water flossers on Amazon, but this is one of the better ones IMO. The water pressure is adequate, with enough settings to allow you to ramp up (or keep using on a lower setting if desired). One nice feature is that the tank detaches easily and this makes filling under a tap easier than other units which don't have an easily detached tank. The tank shape is also a bit fatter so it's not too long along any one dimension. The tank capacity of 300 ml is adequate for a single use. The standard suite of flosser heads are included - flossing itself, peridontal, and one for braces. The tongue cleaner attachment is also there but I prefer to use a separate tongue cleaner tool. Charging is via USB-C and while the port isn't super water proof, there's no damage to the unit yet. Battery life is typical at about 20-30 days with twice a day usage.
