FSS Yucca Extract PF is a natural, pure extract derived from the Mohave Yucca plant (Yucca glauca), native to the southwestern desert of North America. Being part of the Lily family, the plant produces rosettes of rigid, slender, sword-shaped leaves and tall, candelabrum-like panicles of large, drooping, waxy, bell-shaped flowers. It is also known by the names, “Adam’s Needle”, “Spanish Bayonet,” “Spanish Dagger”, and “Soap Root.” Its soap reference is due to the long historical use of the plant’s roots as a foaming cleanser.

The Yucca plant’s active constituents are glycoproteins and saponins, which account for its lathering ability. Today the Yucca glauca plant is being used in a wide range of applications from foaming agents in the beverage industry to an active ingredient in the cosmetic industry. Native Americans, specifically the American Indians have widely used the Yucca plant for hundreds of years for a variety of conditions. Based on the traditional process used by the American Indians, we carry out an aqueous extraction of the yucca roots to produce the FSS Yucca Extract PF. The outcome is a satin-feel, faintly yellowish color solution with properties that may contribute to skin moisturization, skin cell renewal, skin cell proliferation and hair stress/ strain properties. This extraction process allows us to isolate key components from the plant’s roots, such as vitamins, proteins, minerals, amino acids, and sugars.

FSS Yucca Extract PF is derived from the root of the plant and contains essential vitamins, proteins, potassium, calcium, iron, and amino acids. FSS Yucca Extract PF has a typical pH range of 5.0- 7.0 and can be used in hair care formulations for cleansing, strengthening, and elasticity capabilities and in skin care cosmetic formulations for elasticity and moisturizing qualities.
