In their natural habitat they can reach above 25 meters in height but usually get no taller than 12 m in cultivation. The nearly rounded leaves are enormous in maturity, over 3 m wide, and are divided to a third its length into 20 or more stiff, once-folded segments, themselves split on the ends. The leaves are induplicate and costapalmate, producing a wedge-shaped hastula where the blade and petiole meet. Petioles are 2–3 m, slightly armed, and are covered in a white wax as well as cinnamon-colored caducous scales; the nearly-spherical leaf crown is 7.5 m wide and 6 m tall. Most cultivated Bismarckias feature silver-blue foliage although a green leaf variety exists (which is less hardy to cold).[2] These palms are dioecious and produce pendent, interfoliar inflorescences of small brown flowers which, in female plants, mature to a brown ovoid drupe, each containing a single seed.Shipping Notes

A Perfect Guide to Chakras!!

I don't usually write reviews... but as a newbie to Chakras and yoga who was curious to learn more, I’m so thankful that this book found me. Mohamadi has created a beautifully written, well organized, and comprehensive guide to Chakras. I wholeheartedly believe that readers with any level of knowledge of the subject would find that this book has a way of expanding the mind and nourishing one’s appreciation and awareness of the power of Chakras. It is written in a format that is both easy to understand and engaging. And for all my fellow visual learners, the illustrations are not only informative and color coded for clarity, they’re also stunning to look at. Now that I have a better understanding of the way in which Chakras influence so many aspects of my well-being, I am really looking forward to incorporating the yoga poses, meditations, and mantras into my everyday life!

I did not know what to expect with this book; though Ive spent years studying Eastern spiritual traditions and have been incorporating them into my life with more vigor and earnestness in recent times.
Masuda Mohamadi is one of those not so frequent surprises; her writing and genuine enthusiasm for the topic of chakras is of the kind that can actively, in real time, spark a new course of action in the reader.
The book is truly inspiring and also full of illustrations and pictures that are helpful in grasping concepts and poses.
Needless to say, I highly recommend!

Your one-stop shop for chakra awareness - perfectly concise and at the same time, expansive.

The author has an incredible talent and magically manages to put into words (and pictures) the key elements of our chakra system, why they matter, the force of good they can create, and more. She invites us into a practice and bank of knowledge she's an expert in, and facilitates our own discovery at a next level, no matter where we're starting from. A very good book that could use some corrective editing.

I like the book because it’s clearly written and easy to follow. The photos are clear and purposeful. Most of the info is very on-point.
I can’t give the book 5 stars because of one glaring annoyance. The author refers to the Sanskrit names of the chakras, which I really appreciate. She also names most of the yoga asanas (poses/postures) by the English translation of the original Sanskrit names. For some reason, she refers to Downward Facing Dog (Sanskrit: Adho Mukha Svanasana) as “Triangle Pose”. Triangle Pose (Sanskrit: Trikonasana) is actually a completely different asana. I don’t get why she would teach such a well known asana by an incorrect name.
I wouldn’t discourage people from the book over that. I think there is still a lot of good info to be read.
