It is preferable that the soil does not contain much organic material, such as peat moss and that the plant is not fertilized with heavy nitrogen as this can cause an explosion of soft, flabby growth that can make the plant prone to bacterial rots. Decomposed granite is often an excellent media as it has many trace minerals and is similar to the South African quartz fields where these and others of the "Stone Mimicry" are found growing. Perfect for your blind babies

I know most dogs that go blind in their later years do just fine, but when they were very active with a daily ball fetch routine, it can be tough to watch. These little balls are exactly what I needed!! The jingle ball inside is great and as long as you've got plenty of obstacle free space, it's just like playing ball when he had his sight. He also loves to just carry it around and chew on it. Highly recommend

Enables the person to move around while wearing.
These silicon socks look a bit odd at first glance but they work great and best of all, any lotions and oily creams are contained on the inside so you can walk around. They are very soft. I haven't had them long so I can't comment on durability, but they are not made of lightweight material.
