This extraordinary variety produces dazzling clusters of iridescent hot-pink flowers tipped with bright yellow, resembling tiny sparkling fireworks. The narrow, quill-like petals extend from the flower heads, creating a vibrant, architectural effect that instantly catches the eye.

Introduced by Ball Horticulture, ‘Fireworks’ quickly became a favorite among gardeners and flower growers for its unique structure, long flowering season, and exceptional productivity.

Plants form a dense basal clump of foliage before sending up numerous tall, slender stems reaching 60–120 cm in height. Each branching stem carries rounded flower clusters about 2–3 cm in diameter, made up of dozens of small blossoms with glowing yellow stamens emerging from vivid pink bracts — creating the appearance of miniature firecrackers.

Sowing & Germination

Sow seeds on the surface of moist, well-drained seed compost and lightly cover with a thin layer of soil. Maintain a temperature of 18–22°C.

Germination typically occurs within 1–3 weeks.

Transplant seedlings once large enough to handle and plant outdoors after the last frost. When direct sowing, thin plants to 30 cm spacing.

Growing Instructions

Gomphrena thrives in light, well-drained soil and full sun. It is highly tolerant of heat and dry conditions and requires minimal care once established.
