How long does a closed terrarium last?
A well-built closed terrarium can last for years — even decades — with virtually no maintenance. Once sealed, it creates its own water cycle: moisture evaporates, condenses on the glass, and waters the plants again.
Do I need any experience to build a terrarium?
None at all. Every kit includes full printed step-by-step instructions. The plants we include are chosen for their hardiness and suitability for sealed environments. Most customers complete their build in 30–60 minutes.
How much light does a closed terrarium need?
Bright, indirect light is ideal — near a window that doesn't get direct harsh sun. A north or east-facing windowsill works perfectly in most UK homes. Avoid placing directly in strong sunlight, as the glass can magnify heat.
Do closed terrariums need watering?
Rarely. A properly sealed terrarium recycles its own moisture. You may need to add a few drops every few months if the glass looks completely dry inside. Consistent condensation on the glass means it's perfectly balanced — just leave it.
What plants are included?
We handpick 3 tropical plants suited to closed terrarium conditions — typically fittonias, peperomias, ferns, or mosses. Exact varieties depend on availability, but every plant is carefully selected and in excellent health.
We will also include two pieces of luscious green moss.
