It prefers well-drained soil and can tolerate poor nutrition. The Ice Plant has a history of diuretic use as a medicinal herb, needing to be planted in full sun and protected from frost. Once established, it's drought-tolerant and goes by the name of "Common Ice Plant" or "Salty Ice Plant".
Sow in spring & summer at 1mm deep & 25cm apart. Germination in 1-2 weeks at 18-24°C. Maturity in 6 months.
