Descripción: Esta hermosa palmera varía desde una planta de copa profusamente roja con hojas granates hasta una versión naranja de un solo tronco con hojas verdes y todo lo demás. Se ha observado que existe una variación sustancial de color según la elevación, y las plantas más coloridas provienen de elevaciones más altas. Puede crecer hasta 20 pies de alto y 5 a 10 pies de ancho.
Cultura: Aunque crece bastante lentamente, Areca vestiaria es fácil de cultivar y puede sobrevivir a temperaturas tan bajas como 40 grados F. Esta especie prospera en sombra parcial y prefiere suelos ricos, ligeramente ácidos y bien drenados.
