We're here to help you bring this tree into your home, where its impressive presence will definitely be a conversation starter. Care

Is a rubber tree a good indoor plant?

The rubber tree needs more space than many houseplants, but we believe it's absolutely worth it for the joy it brings! If you have the ceiling height, this beautiful specimen will become the heart of your room.

Are rubber trees hard to keep alive?

Your rubber tree will thrive with consistent, loving attention to its basic needs. But it only needs regular care with steady temperatures, watering, and bright light. We promise it's not overwhelming! With our guidance, it will flourish.

This Amazonian beauty rewards dedicated care with years of green happiness, becoming a cherished part of your home and daily routine.

How often should I water a rubber plant?

We recommend watering your rubber tree when the top 2-3 inches (5-8 cm) of soil feel dry. Think of recreating that perfect rainforest environment - consistently moist but never waterlogged. Check regularly whether it has just the right amount of moisture.

Where should I place a rubber tree in my house?

Your rubber tree is happiest near an east- or south-facing window with bright, indirect light. We suggest avoiding direct afternoon sun, which can stress the leaves. Finding the perfect spot for your new giant friend is part of the joy!

Can rubber tree plants live in bathrooms?

Bathrooms can be wonderful homes for rubber trees! If your bathroom has bright light and enough space for growth, your plant will love the almost-tropical humidity. Make sure there’s proper ventilation, and you’re good to go!

What fertilizer should I use for a rubber tree?

We recommend feeding your rubber tree with a balanced liquid fertilizer monthly during spring and summer. Think of it as providing loving nutrition for steady, healthy growth. Regular feeding helps your gentle giant plant stay strong and vibrant!

What does rubber tree plant care involve?

Caring for your rubber tree involves providing bright indirect light, consistent moisture, regular feeding, and occasional leaf cleaning. We see plant care as being a beautiful relationship - the more attention you give, the more your plant flourishes!

Does a rubber tree need sunlight?

Your rubber tree needs bright, indirect sunlight for at least 6 hours daily to stay healthy and happy. We always recommend filtered light similar to its rainforest home - gentle but consistent throughout the day. Direct afternoon sun can damage leaves.

Pet-friendly?

We care deeply about all family members, including pets. Unfortunately, the rubber tree isn't pet-friendly due to its latex sap containing ficin and other compounds.

Are rubber tree plants toxic to dogs?

Rubber trees are toxic to dogs, as their latex sap contains ficin compounds that can cause gastrointestinal upset and oral irritation. If your dog has ingested any part of your rubber tree plant, please contact your veterinarian immediately.

We're here to help you choose pet-safe alternatives if needed, ensuring both your plants and pets can coexist safely.

How toxic is a rubber plant to cats?

The rubber tree is toxic to cats, potentially causing oral irritation, drooling, and digestive issues. If your cat has chewed on your rubber tree, please seek veterinary care right away. We understand how important pet safety is.

We can recommend beautiful cat-friendly plants that provide a similar impact while keeping your feline friends completely safe.

Factoids

What is the difference between a rubber plant and a rubber tree?

The rubber tree (Hevea brasiliensis) is the authentic latex-producing species that grows impressively large, while the rubber plant (Ficus elastica) is its smaller ornamental cousin. We're proud to offer you the genuine rubber tree with Amazonian heritage!

Do rubber trees make rubber?

Your rubber tree (Hevea brasiliensis) is the very species that produces commercial latex for countless products. So you're nurturing a piece of industrial history in your home - a plant that’s shaped the world (and looks great while doing it)!

Does a rubber tree purify air?

Your rubber tree contributes to air purification through its large leaves, creating oxygen and improving humidity levels. While not the most efficient air purifier, it brings a piece of the Amazon's natural air-cleaning power into your space.

What is the lifespan of a rubber tree?

With proper care, your indoor rubber tree can live for a truly long time, even several decades! Wild specimens can reach 100 years. We're honored to help you start this long-term relationship with a truly special gentle giant.

Do they still use rubber trees to make rubber?

Hevea brasiliensis remains the world's primary natural rubber source, with plantations across Southeast Asia producing latex for tires, medical supplies, and so much more. It’s amazing that your houseplant shares DNA with the trees that keep the world moving.

What is the spiritual meaning of a rubber tree?

The rubber tree symbolizes resilience, adaptability, and abundance - qualities we admire deeply. Indigenous Amazonian peoples considered it sacred because it represented the forest's generosity, while modern interpretations connect it to flexibility in life's challenges and personal growth.

Is the rubber tree fruit edible?

The rubber tree fruit isn't edible - really they're seed capsules that explode when ripe, naturally dispersing seeds. Your indoor rubber tree rarely fruits, rather focusing its energy on producing those beautiful leaves we all love so much.

Sturdy & we repurchase yearly for Hubby’s refresh
Color: Brown (Rodeo)
This is my hubbys tried and true wallet. He requests this same one every year as a refresh. He wears his 24/7 in his back pocket so it gets discolored but still holds its shape pretty well with a slight bend.

My favorite watch of all time by a long shot
Color: Brown/Green/Tan, Color: Brown/Green/Tan
Hands down this is the best watch I've gotten so far. I love my Infantry watch but with 24mm bands it's a big sucker. Then there is my Timex Expedition Gallatian which comes in at 22-23mm which is just perfect for my size wrist. It's a perfect fit and I LOVE the Velcro "Fastwrap" strap that comes with it. It's sometimes so comfortable I forget I'm even wearing a watch and it still holds up when swimming! And now this guy, the Expedition Resin Combo as it's called. It at 20mm band size, it is a tad small on my wrist - I wish it was 22mm size as it'd be a 6star or 7star watch haha. Once I got the other Timex watch I knew this "Expedition" series would be awesome. However I didn't like two things about the first one, the date had to be set by continually winding clockwise till you got the day (very tedious) and the indiglo made it so you couldn't see the date. So I decided I want an analog/digital combo but in the Expedition series. On Amazon at least there were only 2-3 models of Timex Expedition that had this specific combination. So I opted for the shall we say middle of the road option for price vs elegance. So when the Expedition Resin Combo came in I was wowed by how amazing this thing is. It's got SO MUCH functionality it's not even funny. Digitally set your date, set your alarm (two diff alarm times), use a stopwatch function, and get both 12-24 hr digitally and analog, and has glow in the dark analog hands/light up digital indiglo feature, and is water resistant up to not 30, or 50, or even 75meters but up to 100 meters water resistant. Oh did I mention it has a rotatable divers bezel which rotates clockwise and counter? Yup got that too. This is by far the BEST watch I've owned period in terms of functionality. In terms of design it's also really stellar. I wish again it was a tad bigger but only by mm's. It came with a really nice brown traditional style wrist strap that was actually very comfortable, but for me is a no go as I'm slightly allergic to stainless steel when I wear watches, so I need to cover up the backplate and as nice as the stock strap is, it just didn't work for me. So I attached quick release pins, and the Velcro expedition strap which feels amazing. I also picked a really nice NATO style strap which again prevents direct skin contact at all times. THAT combination is equally as comfortable as the Velcro strap. The indiglo is some of the brightest I've seen, the analog hands will glow at even the slightest hint of charging in nearby ambient light. I know people talked about the crown or the dual dial that sets the analog hands being weak and breaking ( time will tell) but so far I've set it once and have forgotten about it as this thing does a great job of not losing time at all. If Timex came up with some sort of smart interface for the digital portion of the watch that'd be sick. But for now the 1980's calculator style numbering and lettering for the digital portion brings about a kind of retro feel. I also picked up a Voguestrap Velcro strap more along the colors of the watch but it wasn't long enough to fit around my wrist nicely without being too tight. Something to watch out for when buying a band/strap for the watch. All in all so far I givethis watch 5stars and I can't stop wearing it over my other watches including my Infantry brand watch which feels really comfortable with the NATO strap, but just isn't bright enough at night compared to this watch with the indiglo. I mean it's bright and it's awesome haha. Unlike my other Expedition watch it doesn't block the date or digital portion of the watch from being seen at night, you can see the entire face of the watch, period. And it's great. Would I buy this watch again should it break?? Absolutely. Would I buy this watch over other more expensive watches with better features? Yea absolutely. Let me tell you this is about the best watch you can buy without getting a smart watch or gps watch and keeping it outdoor elegant. I love the outdoors (hate spiders still) and can absolutely say this watch would serve me well no matter the circumstance, indoors outdoors daytime nighttime, wartime, sleeptime, in the rain, in the snow, in the desert, and in the arctic. This will undoubtedly be with me for a long time. And because it's so small I hardly notice it unless I wanna check the date or time. Stop looking and get this watch. You'll get over how small it is really quickly. If you don't, then hey scour for the two models I spoke about earlier, they might be more up your alley. This one is just about perfect for me.

The Coolest Timex Watch In Years
Color: Brown/Green/Tan
This is the nicest looking watch Timex has done in a long time. I have worn their Expedition watches before, usually my watch of choice for deployments, because they are basically indestructible. And if they do get scuffed or beat up, they do not cost a fortune to replace. I like the features of this particular watch. The rotating bezel is a major plus. The crystal is slightly recessed behind the bezel to protect it from scratches. And the watch is waterproof. The visibility of the dial and hands is excellent both in daylight and using the awesome Indeglow feature. The nylon fabric watchband is double layer of contrasting color and looks good. The band is stiff for a fabric band, but is surprisingly comfortable and smooth feeling on the arm. I found myself forgetting to take it off at night. I like the analog/digital combo. The digital area defaults to time. It is small and does not light up with the Indeglow. A single button press brings up the date, which is a plus. There are too many features to the tiny digital area: timers, lap, time zones, alarm, etc. With only 3 buttons to seek and set everything, it can be fiddly. Overall, this is one tough watch that is more than it has a right to be. Great value for the money at this low price point.
