In its native habitat can reach heights of approximately 30' into the tree canopy. Alternate, egg-shaped or heart-shaped juvenile leaves are leathery, fleshy, green with white blotches or spots at the lower portions of its stem; as it climbs the mature leaves that develop at the tip of the plant are oblong, lance to heart-shaped, and pale green below. The native range of this species is Southeast Bangladesh to West & Central Malesia, grows primarily in the wet tropical biome.
