Acerca del Salsa Chileno
Es un árbol grande que llega a alcanzar hasta 25 metros de altura. Su follaje caduco es verde claro, con ramillas colgantes. Las flores en tonos amarillentos se dan en primavera (De setiembre a noviembre). Su fruto es una cápsula marrón claro, con muchas semillas algodonosas en su interior.
Cuidados principales
Deben encontrarse en el exterior y ubicarse en un lugar donde reciben la luz del sol de manera directa.
Requiere abundante riego. En Chile es frecuente en orillas de ríos, esteros y canales, en general, en terrenos húmedos desde Copiapó a Concepción. Se encuentra desde el nivel del mar hasta los 2800 msnm, principalmente en la cordillera de la Costa y el valle Central.
Su temperatura ideal está entre los 14º y los 24º grados. Sin embargo, es resistente al frío.
