Charcoal is one of the most abundant elements on earth. The most common forms of charcoal are coal, coconut shell, wood, peat and lignite. This charcoal is made from coconut shells. No trees are damaged in the process, and the husks are not a food-source.

We often get asked what makes the charcoal 'activated', the process of activating the charcoal happens when the shells are burnt and compressed at such a high temperature that they open up to produce a huge surface area for a very small volume, meaning a small amount of Charcoal can absorb a miraculously high amount of toxins.
