But they obtain a maple syrup taste if you let them continue to ripen. They can be used as a sweetener in just about anything you can think of or just eat them as a hand fruit. If you score the bark and collect the sap you can make chicle witch is the original chewing gum. The fruit will grow in various sizes from as small as a large egg to the size of a softball and will usually have 6 large flat seeds.

Plant comes in a standard 2x2x3.5inch nursery pot with a house made high-end soil blend of peat, worm castings, organic composted yard waste and perlite mixed with top grade local soil.
