The Apollo Automation PLT-1 Ultimate Plant Sensor is the all-in-one solution for monitoring your houseplants through Home Assistant. This sensor measures soil moisture, humidity, temperature, light (LUX), and UV. It features an RGB LED and a piezo buzzer for visual and audible notifications. Thanks to the precision capacitive soil moisture sensor with a protective coating, you're assured of reliable and long-lasting measurements.
Choose from two versions:
- PLT-1B (Battery Version): Powered by a rechargeable 18650 battery (not included), ideal if you don't have access to an outlet. The battery lasts up to 6 months with standard use. A major advantage is its flexibility in placement. The downside is that the device is somewhat larger, and you'll need to provide your own battery and charger.
- PLT-1 (USB-C version): More compact and works directly on USB-C power, so no hassle with batteries. Perfect for permanent locations near a wall outlet. The advantage is the smaller size and no battery maintenance. The disadvantage is that you always need a cable.
Both models are designed for indoor use and can be easily integrated with Home Assistant via Wi-Fi (ESPHome). For additional functionality, you can add the optional DS18B20 waterproof soil temperature probe, which also accurately measures the soil temperature. This probe is ideal for plants that are sensitive to temperature fluctuations.
Please note: The plant sensor is not waterproof and must be protected from direct water and high humidity.
