As Ficus elastica is a tree, it can reach heights up to 10 feet tall in the home! They do absolutely fine in average household humidity. They are toxic if ingested but in my experience cats and dogs tend to leave this plant alone.
For best results do place your Ficus elastica near a window, and try to provide it with a few hours of gentle sun a day.
