Introducing our pineapple tomatillo seeds, an heirloom variety ideal for home gardeners interested in growing ground cherries or exploring unique fruiting plants. These vining plants produce sweet, tangy fruit encased in a delicate papery husk, often referred to as a husk tomato. Each organic pineapple tomatillo seed grows into a productive plant with golden-yellow fruit perfect for pineapple salsa, desserts, and fresh snacking.

For best results, start seeds indoors or sow outdoors after the last spring frost. Once mature, the fruit naturally drops to the ground when fully ripe—similar to other physalis peruviana and ground cherry varieties. While pineapple tomatillo seeds are a type of ground cherry (Physalis pruinosa), they are often grouped with physalis peruviana due to their flavor profile and growth habits. Start your organic pineapple tomatillo seeds early to enjoy a generous harvest all season long.

Why Choose Pineapple Tomatillo Seeds?

Our Pineapple Tomatillo seeds offer a unique twist on traditional tomatillos, with a fruity taste that combines the sweetness of pineapple and the tang of tomatoes. Perfect for making pineapple tomatillo salsa, pineapple salsa, and even salsas, these vining plants grow quickly, typically in 75 days, and produce fruit wrapped in a papery husk that turns a vibrant yellow gold when ripe. These plants thrive in well-drained soil, and their husks split open when the fruit is ready to harvest, providing a fresh and flavorful addition to salads, jam, and desserts. With proper care, you'll enjoy a bountiful harvest of green tomatillos and ripe fruit, perfect for tossing in recipes, adding to salsas, or enjoying fresh from the garden.

Characteristics of Pineapple Tomatillo (Ground Cherry)

The pineapple tomatillo is a unique vining plant that produces small, round fruits wrapped in a papery husk, similar to ground cherries. These tomatillos develop a fruity taste that combines the sweetness of pineapple with the tang of tomatoes, making them perfect for pineapple tomatillo salsa or pineapple salsa recipes. The fruit matures in about 75 days, with husks splitting open when the fruit is ready for harvest. The yellow gold fruit can be eaten fresh, tossed into salads, or used in jam and desserts. Whether you grow them for their unique flavor or for adding to your favorite salsa or recipe, pineapple tomatillos thrive in fertile soil and offer a flavorful addition to any garden.

Soil & Water: Tomatillos love fertile soil rich in organic matter. Add plenty of compost prior to planting. Soil pH is preferred between 5.5-7.0. Soak the soil 4-6" deep at 7-day intervals. Mulch to preserve moisture. Avoid wetting the foliage when watering.

Planting & Growing: Sow seeds in flats 6-8 weeks before the last frost and thin to 2" apart after the first true leaves appear. Before transplanting after the last frost, harden off the plants by placing them outdoors for a few hours to start, increasing the time each day until they spend a full day outside. Plant in full sun, except in hot climates where some afternoon shade is recommended.

Harvesting & Storage: Harvest individual fruits when the husk begins to split or the fruit fills out the husk.

Thinking about investing in Real Estate? READ THIS FIRST!!!
Format: Paperback, Format: Paperback
I now have a new favorite real estate investing book. Real Estate by the Numbers has now been added to my permanent investing collection of must-reads. I bought Frank's book, similar topic, 20 years ago as I began my then "casual" interest in investing. I find J & Dave's book more accessible with anecdotal stories that help deliver the content in an easy-to-grasp style for both newcomers and existing real estate pros alike. Know anybody seeking financial freedom through real estate investing? Buy them a copy of J &Dave's new book (or both)!

Great, Awesome, and Entertaining
Format: Paperback
My son loves this graphic novel! We preordered, it just arrived and we are already a little over halfway thru. My son is still a toddler so I have to read it to him. I'm enjoying it just as much as he is. The story is actually broken up into two smaller books. There's no other chapters but plenty of "natural pauses" to indicate a change in scene. The story so far is great. Very entertaining with some nice humor mixed in. Love the artwork style as well. You won't be disappointed with purchasing this.

Both my children (8 &10) loved this series. And because it wasn’t clear to us at first, the blue book is the 1st in the series. The red one is the 2nd.
