Calling all green thumbs! Are you tired of the same old plants in your collection? Looking for something unique that will make your neighbors envious with its stunning rosette? Introducing the Echeveria Lola a stunning hybrid of Echeveria lilacina and Echeveria derenbergii. This rare plant is cultivated by the famous echeveria breeder Dick Wright and is sure to stand out in any garden, adding a touch of exotic beauty to your outdoor oasis.

Lola can grow to be about 6 inches wide and about 6 inches tall. Because of the thick layer of epicuticular wax (farina) that covers its leaves, the leaves of this plant have a pale color. When exposed to sunlight or cold temperatures, the Echeveria Lola develops delicate pink hues along the edges, creating a lovely contrast with the light blue-green leaves. These leaves are thick and fleshy, which allows the plant to store water and survive in dry conditions.

This hybrid Lola also produces stunning pink bell-shaped flowers that grow on tall stems above the leaves in spring.  Propagation of these amazing young plants can be done easily by stem cuttings & leaf cuttings.

Echeveria Lola succulent plant is easy to care for. The subtle colors and shape of the flower make it ideal for any stylish garden. Overall, not only is Echeveria Lola alluring, but it is also a friendly plant for humans and pets that will stand out in any indoor or outdoor garden.

Watering Needs

As desert dwellers, Echeveria Lola is drought-tolerant by nature, and its fleshy, water-storing leaves can hold a lot of water. It is adapted to survive in dry conditions, so it is important not to overwater it. Overwatering can lead to root rot and other problems that can harm the Lola plant.

To water the Echeveria Lola, it is best to wait until the soil is completely dry before watering it again. When you do water this Echeveria, make sure to water it thoroughly so that the water reaches the roots. When the succulent plant is dormant in the winter, water it less, soaking it completely. It is also important to use potting soil that allows excess water to drain away from the roots.

Light Requirements

Like most succulents, the Echeveria Lola requires full sunlight to partial shade to thrive. The Echeveria plants do best when they receive at least six hours of light per day. However, it is important not to expose it to direct sunlight for prolonged periods, especially in the afternoon sun, as this can cause the leaves to burn.

If you are growing the Echeveria Lola indoors, it is best to place it near a window that receives bright light. If you are growing these succulents outdoors, make sure to place them in a location that receives enough sunlight. It can also be grown under artificial grow lights if you do not have access to natural light.

If they don't receive enough light, their rosette may grow leggy and become paler, and their leaves will shorten, so make your succulent happy and give it plenty of light. When it comes to Echeveria Lola care, it's important to provide it with adequate bright light.

Optimal Soil & Fertilizer Needs

The Echeveria Lola grows best in well-draining soil that allows excess water to drain away from the roots. A succulent soil mixture and coarse sand is a great option for this Lola plant. Perlite also helps to improve the whole soil mixture's drainage, which is important for preventing root rot. Planet Desert specializes in succulents and has Soil cactus mix blend 1 gal 4 qt cacti succulent dirt compost growing media that includes an organic substrate with mycorrhizae to help grow a healthy root system to help your succulents thrive.

As for fertilizer, the Echeveria Lola does not require a lot of nutrients to grow. In fact, too much fertilizer can actually harm the Lola. A balanced, low-nitrogen fertilizer can be applied once a year during the growing season (spring) to help promote healthy growth. It is important not to over-fertilize it, as this can cause the leaves to become soft and weak.

Hardiness Zone & More

The Echeveria Lola can't stand frost, therefore, it needs warm, dry conditions. A well-draining potting mix and drainage holes in the potting container will help you maintain temperatures and prevent too much moisture. They can therefore be cultivated outside in USDA zones 9 through 11.

The ideal temperature for this hybrid Lola plant is 65-75 degrees Fahrenheit, it can survive moderate winter temperatures as long as the soil is not wet and the temperature does not drop below 35 F. They ought to be overwintered indoors to prevent harm from freezing weather.

As for humidity, the Echeveria Lola is adapted to dry conditions and does not require high humidity to thrive. In fact, high humidity can actually harm the plant by promoting the growth of fungal diseases. It is best to keep the plant in a well-ventilated area with low humidity and proper Echeveria care.

Don't miss out on this opportunity to add something truly exceptional to your garden. Order your very own Echeveria Lola today!

Amazing
Format: Hardcover
"You know a poem's good if it makes people feels things" And this novel-in-verse is beyond good. Each word is perfectly chosen to bring you naturally into Selah's world, and her voice is crystal-clear. This was an emotional read for me, and there were so many points that I felt my eyes welling up, sometimes in sympathy and sometimes with joy at her journey. Her friends, teachers, classmates, and family were fully formed as well. I feel like I know and understand them all so well. I want to go chill in Pop's basement. I want to give Selah's Mom a hug and tell her she's doing great. I'd love to be on a team with Mrs. V, and I absolutely adored Selah's close friend Noelle with her smeagoling and dogged determination to stand by her friend. They are people I would have loved to hang out with them. Loved, loved, loved the dragon metaphors. They made Selah's feelings, wants, and desire so clear and relatable. I have a slight obsession with the dragons of Birk, so of course, I gave a little cheer everytime they were mentioned. The FantasyCon scene was lovely, and I loved how it was a turning point on Selah's journey towards finding herself. I always love when the dear nerdly community pulls through. Anyway, I'll probably be throwing this book at everyone's head for a while. It's beautiful, profound, a little cathartic, and important. But also, it's a really enjoyable read! Like, Selah's just a really cool girl. Everything about it was just right, and I feel better for having read it.

Eye Opening!! A great perspective of what is happening in some neurodivergent brain,
Format: Audiobook
What a fantastic book! It gives insight into how neurodivergent people experience the world. I have always heard the phrase "All behavior is communication." I recently listened to an add-on to that phrase: "Distressed behavior communicates a person's distress." I couldn't help but think about this phrase as I read this story. The fatigue of masking is a significant challenge; pretending to be someone you are not is a constant struggle. As a neurodivergent teacher who teaches neurodivergent kids, this story touched my heart, and I highly recommend it to anyone who will listen.

Great book!
Format: Hardcover
I loved the book. It’s a quick read as the novel is written beautifully through poetry. The main character is easy to love and root for. As a teacher who is always advocating for neurodivergent kids, I am often helping parents see the strengths and needs for their child. I love that a book exists where kids can go “That’s me!” and learn to love who they were created to be and find tools that help make the world easier to cope with. The author even gives suggestions and resources in the back of the book. This novel is timely as we are starting to have a greater understanding of the spectrum of Autism. Grandparents and parents are beginning to understand themselves through the diagnosis of their kids/grandkids or even nieces/nephews. Knowing yourself is a powerful thing as Selah (the main character) teaches us.

the BEST BOOK EVER to learn what autism feels like
Format: Hardcover
I have read just about every book ever written (in English) related to autism -- well over 700 of them. This is the best book that communicates what autism feels like, and our life experiences. I'm decades older than the audience the book is intended for; but EVERYONE should read this book to understand we who are different. It also points out several well-known facts: autism has some heredity trails, having just one trusted adult who treats the different child like they are valuable is key to that child being able to cope with the world around them. What surprised me was when an educator with over 25 years of experience in special ed, just did not think the book was that good. That convinced me of the book's unique value: it truly puts the reader in the body and mind of the different child. Some educators cannot do that. The story focuses upon a female -- so not sure how applicable it is to a male different child. I hope some others would test that out. The BEST BOOK EVER to understand what autism feels like. I know as I have been on the autism spectrum since before there was an autism spectrum.
