Like many Aloe, this variety prefers bright sun, but can tolerate partially shaded conditions. Indeed, in direct sun the leaves will flush shades of bright red and yellow, and the plant is more likely to send up stalks of orange flowers in the late springtime. Since the thick leaves store a significant amount of water for the plant, plan to water infrequently – only once the soil has had a chance to completely dry out from the last watering.
