Best for These Animals: Frogs, tropical lizards, small to moderate-sized snakes, and reptiles and amphibians from tropical and temperate climate zones.
Bio Dude Substrates: TerraFirma, TerraFauna, TerraFlora
Soil Depth: Moderate to deep; can climb and root up wood.
Lighting: Part shade to bright light; do not place directly under a heat lamp or basking light.
Humidity & Misting: Prefers humidity between 50% and 60%, but can take higher. Root system can grow in water features.
Mature Plant Size & Root System: Can reach up to 3ft tall and wide, occasionally larger, and can grow up towards a light source and topple over to root along the ground, or in water.
Temperature Tolerance & Placement in the Terrarium: Can take between 65 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit, but prefers between 70 and 80 degrees. Due to its eventual size, it is usually best placed at the back or along the sides of the terrarium.
Edible & Side Effects if Ingested: As a member of the Araceae family, it can be mildly toxic if ingested. However, reptiles and amphibians do not typically eat it.
Pot Size & Packaging: A single 4" potted birkin plant is shipped in the pot, wrapped in paper.
