  • East or north-facing windows provide ideal growing conditions
  • Tolerates lower light conditions exceptionally well
  • Perfect for offices with fluorescent lighting
  • Avoid direct sunlight which can scorch the delicate fronds
Watering Instructions
  • Allow soil to dry slightly between waterings - very forgiving of inconsistent watering
  • Water when top 1-2 inches of soil feel dry
  • Use filtered or tap water - less sensitive than many houseplants
  • Ensure good drainage to prevent root rot
  • Reduce watering frequency during winter months
Humidity & Temperature
  • Average indoor humidity: 30-50% is perfectly adequate
  • Temperature range: 65-80°F (18-27°C) with good temperature tolerance
  • Adapts well to typical home and office environments
  • Benefits from occasional misting but not essential
  • Tolerates temperature fluctuations better than most palms

  • Use well-draining, standard potting mix - not picky about soil type
  • Ensure pots have drainage holes to prevent waterlogging
  • Feed monthly during growing season with diluted liquid fertilizer
  • Repot every 2-3 years or when roots become very crowded
  • Slow growth means repotting is infrequent
Air Purification & Maintenance
  • Naturally purifies indoor air while adding tropical elegance
  • Remove brown or yellowing fronds at the base with clean scissors
  • Trim brown frond tips with scissors to maintain appearance
  • Wipe fronds gently with damp cloth to remove dust

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Parlor Palm really easy to care for?

Absolutely! Parlor Palms are among the most forgiving houseplants available. They tolerate lower light, inconsistent watering, average humidity, and temperature fluctuations much better than most palms, making them perfect for beginners or busy plant parents.

How large will my Parlor Palm grow indoors?

Indoor Parlor Palms typically reach 3-4 feet tall over several years, growing very slowly. This compact size makes them perfect for homes and offices without overwhelming the space. Their slow growth also means minimal maintenance and infrequent repotting.

Can I grow Parlor Palms in office environments?

Yes! Parlor Palms are excellent office plants because they tolerate fluorescent lighting, air conditioning, and the occasional missed watering. They bring tropical elegance to professional environments while requiring minimal care from busy workers.

Is this plant safe around pets and children?

Absolutely! Chamaedorea palms are completely non-toxic to cats, dogs, and humans, making them perfect worry-free choices for families who want to enjoy their classic tropical beauty and air-purifying benefits safely throughout their home.

Why are my frond tips turning brown?

Brown frond tips are common and usually indicate low humidity or water quality issues, but this is mostly cosmetic. Simply trim the brown tips with scissors. Parlor Palms are very resilient and will continue thriving even with some brown tips.

Great Value for a ball my dog loves!
Color: S6-muti-color
I wish these ball were in the subscription program! My dog gets sooo excited by the new ball, but her interest in things lasts for a few days. She kills the squeak within 11minutes, but the squeaker stays in place rather than becoming a chocking or swallow hazard, and she still loves to chew it. Next, we must throw the ball approximately 723 times the first day, possibly 496 times on day 2, and just 3- 4 on day 3, at which point she will chase the ball before hollering "it's over here if you need it," while she checks on the chipmunk den. We currently have 17 of these balls in our yard (because we have given several leftovers to a less discriminating doodle next door). These balls hold up really well, get her extremely active for the first couple of days, and are a much cheaper than doggie daycare (after an active morning with a new ball, she is happy to chew on it and sleep much of the day). I always have these on hand!

Pieces chewed off
Color: white & green
My Aussiedoodle loves it. I throw it down the hallway, it bounces crazy, and he chases it. The only complaint is that he can't chew much of the ball part. So now I have to have it put away and brought out for special playtime.

Finally a ball my power chewers cannot destroy
Size: Medium
I have two dogs, an American Bully and an American Pit Bull Terrier, and both of them love to chew. Most balls last a very short time around here before they are shredded or missing big chunks. This one has actually held up. They chase it, tug on it and sit and chew on it, and it is still in one piece with no pieces breaking off. One of my favorite things is being able to put food inside. I add some kibble or small snacks, and they will happily sit and work on it for a long time. It keeps them busy, gives them something safe to chew, and they get a little reward while they play. When they are done, I just rinse it out and it is ready to go again. If you have strong jawed dogs that usually destroy toys, this ball is worth trying. Mine really enjoy it and I feel better knowing they finally have a ball that can keep up with them.

My dog LOVES this ball
Size: Medium, Size: Medium
Does your dog destroy tennis balls in seconds? Yes? Then your dog NEEDS this ball! It's squishy like a tennis ball, fits in ball launchers (even the cheap ones) and bounces when it hits the ground. My dog has been literally playing with this ball all day and not a single mark on it! The only bad thing is that it does not float. Definitely worth the money! Put it in your cart!
