-About Sempervivum 'Lady's Nail' / Sempervivum Chick Charms Mint Marvel (4 inch)-

Sempervivum' Lady's Nail' is a specific cultivar or variety of Sempervivum, commonly known as Hens and Chicks. As a succulent plant, much like many Soft Echeveria species, Sempervivum' Lady's Nail' is renowned for its rosette-shaped, fleshy leaves that grow in a tight clumping formation. The leaves are green with pale purple or purple tips. The leaves appear spoon-like, but unlike Echeveria, they are thinner and have a firmer texture. The name 'Lady's Nail' likely refers to the appearance of the leaves, which might resemble a woman's nail. Sempervivums are celebrated for their tenacious vitality and ability to thrive in various conditions, making them popular for rock gardens, containers, or other outdoor plantings.

-How to care for Sempervivum' Lady's Nail' / Sempervivum Chick Charms Mint Marvel-

Sun/Temperature: Sempervivum 'Lady's Nail' prefers thriving in an environment that receives abundant sunlight, ranging from full sun to partial shade. It prefers bright light and will thrive when receiving at least 4 to 6 hours of sunlight daily. If you are growing "Lady's Nail" indoors, choose a south-facing or west-facing window to provide sufficient sunlight.

Sempervivums are generally cold-hardy and can tolerate freezing temperatures. Therefore, winter is also their active season. They prefer moderate to warm temperatures during their growing season. The ideal temperature range for most Sempervivums is between 65°F to 80°F. In colder climates, they can survive winter temperatures below freezing if provided with adequate protection. They are cold-resistant but not heat-resistant. Once the summer temperature exceeds 86°F, they can easily die. Therefore, giving shade and proper ventilation during the summer is essential.

Watering/Soil: Sempervivums are drought-tolerant plants prone to rot if overwatered. Water the Sempervivum' Lady's Nail' conservatively and ensure that the soil has a chance to dry completely before the next watering. It's better to underwater than to overwater. In the active growing season, typically in spring and summer, water the Sempervivum' Lady's Nail' approximately once every 1-2 weeks or whenever the soil has completely dried out. In winter, reduce the watering frequency to once a month or less. Use a well-draining soil mix suitable for succulents and cacti. A commercial succulent or cactus potting mix works well. Because they have good drainage, they can drain excess water immediately to prevent root rot.

Propagation: Sempervivums can be propagated through offsets or "chicks" that grow around the base of the main rosette. Carefully detach the offsets and plant them in well-draining soil to establish new plants. Click here to learn more about propagating Sempervivums from the "chicks".

So far my dog hasn’t destroyed it! And it’s been a month. So I call that a win. Plus he loves it.

The toy is best for "non aggressive " chewers. The seller is fantastic though!! They resolved an issue proactively, without being asked-something you don't see often. That level of integrity sets them apart, and I would absolutely buy from them again.

Not for aggressive dogs. I thought this was good for the money it’s not. My dog chewed this up in less than a minute. Not too happy

It's A Beast - But It'll Last Forever
Color: Large size (ø 7.4")
This big orange interactive dog toy does a few things differently—and mostly, it does them right. First, there are no batteries and no charging required. The internal noise maker is activated by movement, producing little squeaks and quacks that grab a dog’s attention without turning into an electronic science experiment. Second—and more importantly—this thing is built to last. It’s designed to work as both a ball and a tug toy, which means it’s far tougher than the typical interactive balls that get shredded in short order. I fully expect this one to stick around for a long time. That said, the reaction from my dogs was… mixed. All of them were a bit spooked at first. The sounds made them curious but cautious. My Border Collie was the first to commit and play with it, and she gave it a solid try. After a while, though, interest faded and the toy ended up sitting on the floor largely ignored. I can get them engaged if I roll it around and hype things up, but the two dogs that usually love tug-of-war haven’t latched onto this one yet. My guess is this toy will shine more outdoors. Once spring rolls around and it’s flying across the yard instead of the living room floor, I suspect it’ll get a lot more action. My dogs tend to burn energy—and enthusiasm—much faster outside. If you have a heavy chewer that destroys fragile interactive toys (and drains your wallet in the process), this is a very welcome alternative. Considering how quickly $35–$50 electronic balls can meet their end, this toy earns its place in the basket for durability alone.
