During the spring and summer months, large orange blooms provide a stunning contrast against the up to 10 inch tall stems, making it even more of a standout in any succulent collection.
It is not uncommon for the stems to blush a soft pink or even purple when exposed to ample bright sunlight. Extremely drought tolerant, overwatering is the greatest risk to this specimen, so be sure to adhere to a thorough yet infrequent watering routine, and pot within a well-draining and porous soil mix.
Preferring temperatures above 50 degrees Fahrenheit whenever possible, it is important to protect it from frost during the winter months, to avoid permanent damage to the somewhat brittle, thin stems which are its hallmark.
