Germination Guide

  • Sow indoors either Feb to May or in Aug/Sep
  • Sow on to surface moist but not wet seed compost
  • Gently tamp seeds to surface of compost to ensure a good contact 
  • Very lightly cover with vermiculite or sieved compost Ideal temp. 
  • Keep at room temperature 18-20°C using a heat source if night time temperatures low 
  • Keep compost moist but not wet 
  • Germination takes 3-4 weeks but can be naturally erratic due to its nature as a wild plant 
  • Pot on to indivudual plants when large enough to handle 
  • Harden off then plant out once all risk of frost passed
