- Light: Bright, indirect light is ideal. Avoid direct sunlight which can scorch the leaves.
- Temperature: Warm conditions with temperatures between 20-28°C (68-82°F) during the day and 18-22°C (64-72°F) at night. Protect from temperatures below 15°C (59°F).
- Humidity: High humidity is essential, maintaining levels between 60-80%. Use a humidifier, humidity tray, or terrarium to maintain adequate moisture.
- Watering: Keep substrate evenly moist but not waterlogged. Allow the top layer to dry slightly between waterings. Reduce watering in winter.
Additional Notes
- Foliage Characteristics: Features large, beautifully rounded heart-shaped leaves with a distinctive velvety (velutinous) surface and prominent radiating venation. Great resource, worth every penny. I wish it would have included a chapter or two on numerical modeling, especially an overview of the various CFD codes out there, but it is OK that it did not.

The book contents are good. Format? Not so great/

The text of this volume is exhaustive, but the photos are substandard. These need some enhancement and a lot of enlargement. Due to its its extreme weight, the book should have been issued in at least two volume, possibly three,. The third volume could profitably be devoted to enhanced photos: those used seem to adhere to the principal that a photo is worth <100 words.
