PLANTING

Solenostemon scutellarioides

Annual

Germination: 10-15 days

Germination Temperature: Optimum soil temperatures 70-75ºF

Seed Planting Depth: Sow on the surface, needs light to germinate

Starting Indoors: Start indoors 8-12 weeks before the last frost. Provide 65-75 ºF soil temperatures. Provide 70-75ºF soil temperatures until germination. Transplant after the last frost date,10-12” apart.

Sowing Outdoors: Direct sowing outdoors is not recommended

Growth Habit: Upright

Height and Width:  28-30" x 18-22"

Spacing: 12-18” apart

Light Needs:  Part sun to shade 

Soil Needs: Average to fertile, well-drained

Approximate days to flower from seed: Sizable seedlings are ready 12-14 weeks after sowing. 

Uses:  Flower Beds, containers

Care: When growing Coral Candy Coleus in containers, it will need to be fertilized and watered regularly. During the heat of summer, they will need to be watered a few times a week. Apply a liquid fertilizer every 2 weeks or use a time-release fertilizer at planting time.
