This vine has beauty in spades, but it is also everything you could want in a plant. It's easy to grow, adaptable to a variety of soil, drought and deer tolerant as well as disease resistant.

How to Care
When planting be sure you have the right location and conditions for your new plant to thrive. Spring and fall are ideal times to plant although as long as the conditions aren't extreme you can plant your wisteria throughout the year.
The Blue Chinese Wisteria can grow in full sun to part shade, but more sun will provide the most blooms. While Wisteria prefer moist, well-drained, fertile soil, they are quite adaptable and even drought tolerant once established. Water deeply with a hose about 2 times weekly for the first 2 to 3 months. Adding about 2 inches of mulch will help protect the roots, control weeds, and maintain moisture in the ground. Fertilize in spring with a slow release fertilizer.
Wisteria bloom only on new growth. So pruning is helpful for getting the most out of your blooms. Prune at least 1/2 of the prior years growth in late winter for best results. To maintain a rounded canopy pruning is required.
Your wisteria may require a trellis which helps getting your vine started and adds support to the plant.
Wisteria plants don't tend to have problems with pests, disease, or deer.
