Germination

Elettaria cardamomum, commonly known as cardamom, can be propagated from seeds, although it requires specific conditions for successful germination. To enhance germination, soak the seeds in warm water for 24 hours to soften their outer shell. Prepare a well-draining potting mix using equal parts peat moss and perlite, moistening it thoroughly without saturating it. Sow the soaked seeds on the surface of the soil mix, lightly pressing them into the substrate. Cover the seeds with a thin layer of vermiculite or fine sand to maintain moisture levels. Place the pot in a warm, humid location with indirect sunlight and maintain consistent moisture by misting the soil regularly. Germination usually occurs within 2-6 weeks, although it may take longer under suboptimal conditions. Once the seedlings emerge, provide them with ample light and gradually acclimate them to direct sunlight. Transplant the seedlings into individual containers or garden beds once they've developed several sets of true leaves, ensuring they receive sufficient spacing and ongoing moisture to support their growth and eventual establishment.

Great for reading for comprehension, also a Great book to use for all kinds of Science lessons
Format: Hardcover
This book was used as part of a Science lesson, living and non-living resources. My class drew kites, read the book, flew kites, and more during this unit. “Kite Day: a Bear and Mole Story” is a favorite of the students in my school.

BRIGHT EYES OPENED WIDE
Format: Hardcover
This easy to read book for 3-7 yr olds is very moves easily through the story's tale and is so colorful! I introduce it to my toddler class during circle time and their facial expressions were exciting with the turn of every page. After hearing and seeing the tale told; they had many questions. I enjoyed it just as much as my toddlers.
