In spring, the plant emerges with vibrant new foliage in shades of peach, pink, orange, and emerald green. White, bell-shaped flowers appear soon after, giving way to an abundant crop of sweet blueberries by summer. In mild climates, the evergreen leaves turn a rich eggplant purple in winter, offering continued garden appeal even in the off-season.
