Its finely cut, cloud-like fronds create a soft, airy texture that instantly freshens any space. With the same easy-going nature as the classic Blue Star, ‘Davana’ offers a more sculptural, delicate look while remaining wonderfully forgiving once you get the watering rhythm right. Perfect for bright bathrooms, kitchens, living rooms, and anyone wanting a fern that feels both modern and calming.

Plant Care 

Light: This is a low-light tolerant plant, though it would prefer bright indirect.

Watering: A plant that likes to be always moist, be sure that that soil is moist but not sopping wet. 

Temperature: 14 to 27°C is ideal, and it can tolerate as low as 10°C but not for long periods. 

Potting: A well-draining moisture retaining mix is a good bet for this plant. Our Thirst Trap mix is a great choice. 

Hot tips: Blue Star Ferns are not as keen on humidity as other ferns, so average room humidity will work for this low-drama plant.

I am not a parent, but I have loved following Kayla Craig’s Instagram account, @liturgiesforparents. She is a gifted writer and manages to convey complex emotions into simple prayers. There are prayers for life events, everyday occurrences, and, my favorite part, breath prayers. I especially liked the Scriptural basis for the breath prayers. As a pastor, I would not hesitate to hand this book to a family in my congregation. In fact, I may impress many copies upon families. I also read these prayers through the lens as someone who doesn’t have my own children. Most of the prayers are written for parents and from that perspective, but many could be edited to be used as prayers for children who are not your own. My only critique is that some of the prayers felt a little too long. And I would have liked more prayers that kids could say too. I received an advance copy after pre-ordering the book and agreeing to share my thoughts.
