This is a ultra rare and highly coveted Christian Dior floral 'New Look' dress dating back to his lifetime 1956 spring/summer collection. The House of Dior has been an enduring icon of haute couture. While the House of Dior is still a thriving business today, Dior's untimely death in 1957 left the fashion world without a great dictator of style. Christian Dior designed under his own name for only a decade, but his influence is everlasting. Here is a rare opportunity to own a breathtaking Dior numbered original designed by Dior himself for the Europe export market, before he passed away. Garments with this rare label are couture made for clients who could not go in for multiple fittings in Paris. The dress is fashioned in a stunning 'light as a feather' baby-blue watercolor petal floral crepe-de-chine silk which is perfect for the warmer seasons. I love the over-sized portrait collar with unique sculpted criss cross design. The hourglass nipped-waist met by the full pleated skirt frames the perfect New Look silhouette. As Dior himself once said, "Elegance must be the right combination of distinction, naturalness, care and simplicity." Got one of these for our Rodesien Ridgeback when he was a puppy, and it worked well. So, when my daughter rescued two medium-sized dogs (one is an Australian Cow dog mix, and the other a Plott Hound mix) it was a no-brainer. The Plott Hound mix has jaws of steel and destroys anything and everything he can get his mouth around, except items from this maker. This is the only toy brand I've found that he doesn't demolish in under 5 minutes. Oh, and I'm stunned he can put bite marks in it. The Rodesien Ridgeback didn't even do that when he was a puppy, so I was surprised. However, that being said, the toy is holding up to hours of abuse. I had to buy additional toys because they don't like to share. Update on 01/09/20: these are still holding up to repeated abuse.
