This incredible antique Edwardian dress was made in the early 19th century, and it is a stunning, museum-worthy (and museum quality) work of art. These Victorian/Edwardian era dresses are commonly mis-referred to as tea dresses or tea gowns, but they were actually known as "lingerie dresses." The details on this dress are breathtaking, and to think most of them were done by hand is really astounding. The sleeves and upper bodice are comprised of Val lace embroidered panels— the embroidery throughout this dress is so substantial, and has a lot of volume and dimension to it, making it unique among most Edwardian lawn dresses and the like. The yoke at the upper bodice makes the gathered bust area feel fuller, which was a very typical Edwardian silhouette. Defining the waistband is an open Irish crochet lace panel, which is echoed at the neckline, sleeve cuffs and in one panel on the skirt. The main material is a lightweight cotton, which is pintucked through the skirt to create a straight, column shape. It is shown with a nude bodysuit underneath (no slip) so you can see it's very possible to wear this out as a dress. This dress is in remarkably beautiful condition considering its age; it's only becoming harder to find these rare antique dresses in wearable condition. This would be such a beautiful "Something Old" for a bride!

Measurements: This will best fit a modern size X-Small and Small but please refer to below measurements to be sure.

Great antique condition. This dress is in remarkably wonderful condition, especially considering it is over 120 years old. It's only becoming harder to find these rare antique dresses in wearable condition. But note that it is not perfect and there is some minor wear to the fabric in places. It is worth purchasing a Protection Plan on an unfamiliar item
Bought a 3-year protection plan for a nut milk maker machine for $5.99. It was a fairly new kitchen item in our household and we were not familiar with the brand. So, I bought the plan for a piece (peace) of mind. The machine worked nicely for about 18-20 months with daily use until it tripped the circuit outlet. My initial chat with Asurion did not go as I expected due to discrepancy on their end as they see a protection plan for the nut milk maker as a sporting goods valued between $100-$199, not as a kitchen item valued between $30-$39.99. ( I had bought 3 different protection plan on th same day for multiple items purchased on Prime Days). They were looking at a different plan and I was unable to get them to "scroll over" to the appropriate protection plan. I tried again on a different day during the first hour of their contact hours and had a cheerful Asurion agent who was able to find the appropriate kitchen item protection plan. It was a simple and thorough conversation and transaction. I was refunded within hours after I packed up and dropped off the damaged item out to UPS. Moral of the story: Asurion Protection Plan is worth it and contact them at the start of their first day shift, not at the end of their evening shift.
