We worked with Old Blood Noise Endeavors to create the Black Bobbin® Boost, which features two great boosts in one enclosure, and gives you the freedom to put them anywhere in your signal chain. 

The BUMP side has been designed to optimize the push of a nice transparent overdrive. Since it is to be your “always on” boost, the top features only an output control, however there is an internal tone trim pot that you can dial in as well if you’d like. Set it, forget it, and allow the rest of your gain stages and amp to benefit from it being on! 

The BOOST side has been designed to function like an EP booster, and can be used in a few different ways. The original intent is to have the BOOST placed after your highest gain stage, and act as a decibel boost for soloing or pulling fuzzes up out of the mud and into the mix. The BOOST side also works wonderfully directly after the BUMP as a secondary gain stage if you like to keep things simple. To do so, you can simply plug into the BUMP side, and run out of the BOOST for a great two stage gain pedal. Turn the gain up on the BOOST side, and it will function more as a saturated drive as well!

While these suggestions are based on my thoughts on optimizing your gain stages, you have the freedom to choose where you want either of them to go! BOOST before BUMP? Have at it! BOOST after delay? If you want to! The combinations are up to you and what works best for your setup!

SERIES To run the BOOST right after the BUMP, simply plug into the BUMP Input and then Out of the BOOST.

BRACKET To bracket the BUMP and BOOST around other gain stages, plug into the BUMP side and run your cable out to the next pedal. After your highest gain stage, plug into the BOOST input and then out to your amp or modulation and reverb effects.
