Cervélo’s aero engineers shaved a staggering 37 W off the drag of the previous model—34 W faster than its nearest rival—without sacrificing the handling that made the original a cult favourite. A lighter, wind-tunnel-honest frame (now 66 g lighter) pairs with a fully integrated HB16 aero carbon cockpit and internal Cable Control to slice through cross-winds at race speed.

Shimano’s electronic GRX RX825 1× 12 speed Di2 drivetrain fires off flawless shifts on washboard climbs and flat-out fire roads, while Ice-Tech hydraulic discs on 160 mm rotors give confident braking when the course turns sketchy. Reserve 40|44 GR carbon wheels (40 mm front/44 mm rear) wrapped in 42 mm Vittoria Corsa Pro Control tyres keep you planted, and a threaded T47 bottom bracket makes future servicing simple.

Áspero-5 clears 45 mm tyres, accepts 1× or 2× drivetrains, and features Cervélo’s slick downtube in-frame storage door—stash a tube, CO₂ and tools inside the frame and out of the wind. With swappable rear-axle “TrailMixer” chips, you can fine-tune geometry for equal or staggered tyre widths (e.g. 40 mm front / 44 mm rear) to sharpen handling on faster courses.
